The recent catastrophic floods in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, have resulted in at least 16 fatalities and left nearly 1,000 individuals displaced. On Friday, March 7, in just 8 hours, the city was deluged with 400 millimeters of rainfall, equivalent to a third of the average total rainfall every year, leading to widespread devastation.
Entire neighborhoods remained submerged due to the catastrophic floods, with residents losing homes and possessions. Infrastructure has suffered extensive damage, including hospitals and essential services, further exacerbating the crisis.
At Mensajeros de la Paz, we will focus our efforts on phase 1, emergency assistance, and phase 2, rebuilding. We will assist families as they rebuild their lives and return to their homes. Mensajeros de la Paz will provide essential items to help improve the living conditions of those affected.
This project will help families regain stability and rebuild their lives after the devastation of the recent flooding. It will lay the foundation for long-term resilience, recovery, and growth for the affected community of Bahia Blanca, Argentina.
