UPO Beaver Scholarship

UPO Beaver Scholarship

Since 1990, UPO has helped ease the burden of college hopefuls and their families by awarding 171 scholarships, totaling nearly $1 million. Currently, UPO gives $10,000 annually to each of 5 deserving DC high school students who want to improve their lives and their community by continuing to learn.

Many outstanding high school students can't imagine going to college: They see too many barriers in their way, the most important one being financial.

We give the financial and institutional support that helps these scholars reach their potential. A $10,000 scholarship from UPO opens a door to a better future. Also, our team motivates and encourages students on their journey inside, outside, and beyond the classroom. (We also do this for children in middle and high schools-we have a continuum of programs.)

Long-Term Impact

Recipients of the Beavers Scholarship have attended Georgetown University, Stanford University, University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Norfolk State University, the University of Delaware, George Washington University, the University of Oklahoma, Florida A&M University, Kansas University, and Morehouse College. They've improved their lives and changed the trajectory of their families for generations to come. Now's your chance to help the next scholar!
