Starting this week, Ba Futuru is commencing script development for the production of the 4th episode of the edutainment Unlocking Love / Domin Nakloke film series. This episode will be about the pressing issue of teenage pregnancy!
With 19% of girls married before 18 and 24% already with a child by the time they turn 20, in 2017 the government of Timor-Leste with UNFPA and Plan International decided to investigate the decision-making pathways and experiences that lead to teenage pregnancy and early marriage in Timor-Leste.

This study shed light on the important of the issue of teenage pregnancy in Timor-Leste inspiring the 4th episode of Domin Nakloke. One of the issues the study raised is that there is a strong correlation between teenage pregnancy and high maternal mortality rates - teenagers are twice as likely to die in childbirth as older women.
In order to combat this trend, Ba Futuru is working with the Partnership for Human Development on the 4th episode of Domin Nakloke that will explore the following issues:

Ba Futuru will be sharing the impact data form the first three episodes of the Domin Nakloke film series at a global conference, the 2nd International Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit featuring Entertainment Education, in Bali, Indonesia in April of 2018.
