We are grateful to share an update on the Uganda Refugee Health Insurance and Development Fund and the lives being touched through the generosity of our donors. In the West Nile region of Uganda, many refugee and vulnerable families continue to face significant barriers to accessing healthcare and keeping their children in school. Through this project, we are helping reduce some of these challenges by providing vulnerable refugee families with access to healthcare through the Go-Card insurance program, while also supporting children's access to education.
Over the past months, the project has continued to provide an important safety net for families when illness strikes. For families living with limited and unpredictable incomes, the cost of medical treatment can quickly become overwhelming. Access to health insurance means that children and caregivers can seek medical attention when needed without having to choose between paying for treatment and meeting other essential household needs. The support also extends beyond healthcare, helping children stay connected to education and providing families with greater stability during difficult times.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to expanding the impact of this initiative and reaching more vulnerable refugee households in the West Nile region. Our goal is not simply to respond when families become sick, but to help build a stronger foundation for healthier, more secure lives through access to healthcare, education, and ongoing support. None of this would be possible without our generous donors and supporters. Thank you for standing with refugee families and helping provide hope, dignity, and opportunity to those who need it most.
