Typhoon Kristine struck the Philippines on October 22, 2024 causing a series of large-scale floods. The Philippines had recently suffered from Typhoon Yagi in September, and urgent assistance was needed ifor this major disaster. The overall damage was estimated at $317 million USD with over 617,000 displaced from their homes.
Civic Force supported our partner A-PAD Philippines in playing a central role in collaborating with volunteers and the local chamber of commerce. Following initial needs assessments on the ground including Albay and in Naga City, the team distributed hot meals and relief supplies. To address water scarcity, water filters were deployed in Libon, Albay.
We thank our supporters who made this response possible.
