By DENNIS MWANGE | DUE DILIGENCE
The project is doing well as members are grateful for being part of the project and their livelihoods have really changed since the project started until now. Those who received chicks they now own a flock of chicken from which they are proud of. One of the beneficiaries, 50 years of age and married having six children, is among those whose lives changed by the poultry project. Currently she has about 23 chicken comprising of chicks below one month, hens and cocks. She admits that some time back she had many and sold the cocks and eggs and from the proceeds she is able to pay school fees for her children and also able to have nutrious meals with her family. Also during holidays, she sometimes makes a meal for her children just to celebrate being together after a while in school. She plans to expand her poultry farming come next year as she has gained experience and poultry management skills.
