The aim of this project is to construct laundry and shower facilities in Tanisma, Turkiye. The village was heavily impacted by an earthquake, which destroyed around 80% of the area. As a result, there is a severe shortage of hygiene and laundry facilities, leading to itchiness among the villagers. Although this issue can be resolved with clean bedding, the lack of laundry facilities exacerbates the situation. As summer approaches, the situation is expected to worsen.
There are currently over 5,100 residents living in Tanisma, Turkiye, but around 80% of the village was devastated by the earthquake. As a result of this natural disaster, there is a shortage of laundry and hygiene facilities, which is causing many villagers to suffer from itchiness. The disease is highly contagious, with one infected person potentially able to spread it to up to 20 others. With summer approaching, the situation is expected to worsen.
Residents' itchiness can easily be alleviated with clean pillows and blankets, but the village is experiencing a shortage of laundry facilities. As a solution, we plan to construct laundry and shower facilities in the village. The laundry facility will consist of 10 washing machines, detergents, and 2 workers.
This project will solve the hygiene concerns of Tanisma residents to ensure their healthy lives. In addition, we plan to provide employment opportunities to local residents and take responsibility for their livelihoods. Through these efforts, we hope to help the Tanisma community recover quickly from the wounds of the earthquake.
