Fountains of Hope would like to provide 3000 gallons of trucked in water on a weekly basis to a school of 600 children located in the heart of the third largest slum in the world, Cite Solail, Haiti. Donors would sponsor water that will fill two tanks every week. There is a water purifier system at the facility which has been previously donated that can purify each tank in 20 minutes making the water potable for the children to use on a daily basis. 52 weeks x $60 per truckload = $3,120
The children attending Ecole Petit Coeur de Jesus mostly come from the third largest slum in the world, Cite Solail, Haiti. There are no sources of good water there because the aquifers have salt in them from the ocean. Therefore, drinkable water must be trucked in to fill the two water tanks at the school.
Fountains of Hope will purchase one tank of safe water that will be trucked in to the school each week. FoH will then purify the water using a water purifier that turns salt into chlorine gas. The chlorine gas will then be injected into the water to kill all the remaining bacteria in the water making it safe to drink and cook with for the entire school.
Children will know that they have safe drinking water at the school and will not get sick from cholera, typhoid and other diseases that cause diarrhea, dehydration and even death. The water will be used to also feed the children in partnership with Kids Against Hunger. The missing ingredient in their food packets is SAFE WATER!
