Thank you—we can’t say it enough! Because of your generosity, people struggling after Tropical Storm Megi (locally known as Agaton) were able to receive support to address their immediate needs and help reconstruct critical public spaces for the longer term.
Specifically, your donation to the Tropical Storm Agaton/Megi Relief Fund powered one grant to OISCA International, a community-led nonprofit at the forefront of the relief efforts for this disaster. The organization jumped into action to provide emergency supplies for their community. OISCA International also provided materials to help people rebuild their homes because the storm caused extreme infrastructure damage, particularly in the Eastern Visayas region.
Rene, an ice candy vendor with a family of seven, was one of the typhoon victims whose home was washed out by the raging flood waters. After rebuilding his house, he and his family can now sleep comfortably at night and continue recovering from the typhoon. With your helping hand, OISCA International was able to support Rene and other community members in the short and long term!
This fund is no longer accepting donations, and this will be the last fund report of this kind from our team. Thank you again for advancing community-led disaster recovery.
