Thanks to support from donors like you, MiracleFeet's clubfoot program in Nigeria is performing very well! So far during MiracleFeet's fiscal year 2026 (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026), we have opened 21 new clubfoot clinics across the country, bringing the total number of health facilities we support to 86. Our in-country partners also visited new potential clinic sites (in Edo, Enugu, Anambra, Rivers, Lagos, Katsina, and Sokoto) where we may open additional clinics later in 2026.

So far this year, over 2,000 new patients have started treatment across this clinic network, and hundreds more have visited clinics for follow-up casting and bracing appointments. As we expand to reach more children, treatment quality remains high: the average number of casts per patient and tenotomy rate are consistently within target range, indicating providers are skilled at delivering high-quality care. Treatment adherence is also high, with dropout rates below target. Partners facilitated Parent Support Group meetings, at which parents of children in the bracing phase of treatment interact with newer clubfoot parents to share personal experiences, challenges, coping strategies, encouragement, and advice. These sessions are highly interactive and well-received, with parents appreciating the safe space to learn from each other, build confidence, and strengthen their sense of community.

In addition to treating children, we have strengthened the capacity of the healthcare workforce through 19 Basic, 6 Advanced, and 4 Refresher Ponseti method trainings. MiracleFeet also supported 30 early detection and referral workshops, training over 2,000 maternity nurses, midwives, nursing students, and Village Health Teams to identify clubfoot in newborns and connect families to treatment.

Thank you for your generous support which makes this work possible. We look forward to sharing another update with you soon!
