REPORT ON TREAT 6000 CHILDREN WITH MALARIA IN ZAMBULKURA AREA (53920) -JANUARY 2026
A report of activities for Rescue and Restore Hope Zambulkura Ghana’s (RRHZ) from October 2025 - December 2025.Although the cases of Malaria has generally reduced in both the children and adults, there are still signicant number of cases affecting Zambulkura and its neighbouring communities. In line with our aim to make health care services easily accessible to people, we organized malaria outreach program in Zambulkura to address the problem. This update is to our donors and GlobalGiving Team, to provide them the opportunity to know the impact of our work together as a team in Zambulkura. Our NGO’s malaria outreach programs continue to impact lives in Zambulkura and surrounding communities positively through our malaria screenings and treatments. This was made possible because of the donations received from donors through GG. The funds we received helped us to buy rapid malaria test kits, cough syrup, malaria medicines, multivitamins and de-wormers among other logistics used to carry out the Malaria screenings and treatment. The malaria outreach was carried out on 15th November 2025. The total number of people tested for the disease was 547 out of which 89(16.27%) tested positive for the disease.
Out of the 547 screened 83 (15.17.%) were children between 0-5 years. Children aged 6-17 years were 296 (54.11%), those 18 years and above were 79 (14.44 %)
Among the 83 positive malaria cases,11(13.25%) were children aged 0-5years, 43(51.81.%) children aged 6-17years and age 18 years and above were29(34.94%) positive malaria cases. Both adults and children needing further treatments were referred to Nalerigu hospital for further treatment.
