REPORT ON TREAT 6000 CHILDREN WITH MALARIA IN ZAMBULKURA AREA (53920) -SEPTEMBER 2025
Report of activities of Rescue and Restore Hope Zambulkura Ghana’s (RRHZ) for the period, June 2025 - September 2025. Malaria continues to be the major health problem affecting Zambulkura and its neighbouring communities. Particularly among children and pregnant women. In line with our aim to make health care services easily accessible to the people, we organized malaria outreach program in Zambulkura to tackle the problem. This update is to our donors and GlobalGiving Team, to provide them the opportunity to know the impact of our work together as a team in Zambulkura. Our NGO’s malaria outreach programs continue to save many lives in Zambulkura community and surrounding communities through the carrying out of malaria screenings and treatments. This was made possible because of the donations received from donors through GG. The funds we received helped us to buy rapid malaria test kits, cough syrup, malaria medicines, multivitamins and de-wormers among other logistics used to carry out the Malaria screenings and treatment. The malaria outreach was carried out on 19th July 2025. The total number of people tested for the disease was 644 out of which 176(27.33%) tested positive for the disease.
Out of the 644 screened 148 (22.98.%) were children between 0-5 years. Children aged 6-17 years were 309 (47.98%), those 18 years and above were 187 (29.04%)
Among the 176 positive malaria cases,17(9.66%) were children aged 0-5years, 92(52.27.%) children aged 6-17years and those 18 years and above were 67 (38.07%) positive malaria cases. Both adults and children needing further treatments were referred to Nalerigu hospital for further treatment.
CONCLUSION
We will continue to organize malaria outreaches in Zambulkura and its surrounding communities to bring health care closer to these deprived communities. Rescue and Restore Hope Zambulkura Ghana is grateful to all our donors, and GG Team for supporting us to save the many lives in the Zambulkura area through our malaria outreaches programs. And together we are making a positive impact on the lives of the people.
Thanks to all our donors, and ever supportive GlobalGiving Team members.
