REPORT ON TREAT 6000 CHILDREN WITH MALARIA IN ZAMBULKURA AREA (53920) - FEBRUARY 2025
Report on Rescue and Restore Hope Zambulkura Ghana’s (RRHZ) activities from October 2024 to January 2025. These activities include our malaria outreach programs, and the constructing of a 40-bed capacity health facility underway in Zambulkura to make health care services easily accessible to the people. This update to our donors and GlobalGiving Team is to provide opportunity for every single donor to get to know our achievement together as a team in Zamabulkura in the Northeast Region of Ghana in West Africa. Malaria is still the highest or leading course of many deaths among children in the Northern part of the country. Our NGO’s malaria outreach programs continue to be useful in saving many lives in the area over the years. That is the carrying out of malaria screenings and treatments. Donations received from donors through GG played a crucial role in enabling our NGO to buy rapid malaria test kits, malaria medicines, cough syrup, de-wormers, multivitamins among other logistics to carry out the Malaria screenings and treatment in Zambulkura and surrounding communities. The latest program was carried out on 23rd November 2024. The total number of people tested for the disease were 677 out of which 196(28.95%) tested positive for the disease.
Out of the 677 screened 183 (27.03.%) were children between 0-5 years. Children aged 6-17 years were 331 (48.89%), those 18 years and above were 163 (24.07%)
Among the 196 positive malaria cases,21(10.71%) were children aged 0-5years, 113(57.65%) children aged 6-17years and those 18 years and above were 62 (31.63%) positive malaria cases. Adults who were identified with high Blood Pressures were referred and advised to go to Nalerigu hospital for BP medications, and further treatment.
During the period under review, Rescue and Restore Hope received donation from another source to continue with the building of the 40-bed capacity clinic which was started in 2020 is about 70% complete. As we continue to build the clinic we are also seeking for support towards the acquisitioning of medical equipment for the facility.

CONCLUSION
Rescue and Restore Hope effort to build a health facility in Zambulkura started in 2020 but has been slow due to lack of funds. That notwithstanding, we continue to push towards the completion of the clinic to give the people of Zambulkura and surrounding communities access to 24- hour health care services. We believe our relationship with GG and donors would lead to the successful completion and operationalization of the clinic in Zambulkura.
