Challenge

The 52 children at Hearts of Hope are orphaned and vulnerable children who come from often abusive, traumatic, impoverished and neglected environments. Education is a basic right for the child. However, as Hearts of Hope is not within walking distance from the school in Johannesburg, we need to provide transport to get them there safely. In addition children miss out on events and activities as there isn't reliable transport.

Solution

A 10-seater vehicle will enable us to get the children safely to school in the morning, and will give us more flexibility in their extra-mural activities after school and on weekends.

Long-Term Impact

Safe and secure transport will ensure that the Hearts of Hope children are able to access a great school programme, providing them many educational opportunities to thrive and succeed and giving them a stepping stone to a better future.
