Enable villagers to access a package of sustainable health, educational, economic, and social programs in rural India. A council of villagers chooses what programs to adopt.
Rural villages in India are often underdeveloped compared to the rest of the country. Existing support systems such as health care systems and educational systems can be inadequate and median incomes can be low. In 197 villages in Andhra Pradesh, India, Byrraju offers village development projects. The projects often include facility building, training, and professional consultation services.
Byrraju's catalogue of projects includes water sanitation plants, agricultural consultation systems, women empowerment programs, Internet and electronic communication centers, livelihood training, and remely taught classes, among others.
Byrraju's projects are designed to improve the soft and hard infrastructure in a village and produce local leaders, leading to an empowered, self-sufficent community that meets a target income level.
