Your Support is opening School Doors for Children.

Because of your generosity, Joy for Children Uganda is reaching children who are often invisibletotheeducationsystem.Thisweek,ouroutreachteamvisitedtheinformalsettlements ofMulimira Zone inBukoto Parish to identifythe most vulnerable children forour Sponsora Childprogram.Thevisitsconfirmedaharshreality:althoughanestimated2%ofchildrenwith disabilities inUganda attend primaryschool, manyare stillexcluded bypoverty, inaccessible schools, discrimination, and stigma.

Duringtheoutreach, weassessedtwochildrenwithdisabilitieswhourgentlyneeded support.

Six-year-old Yvonne lives with her grandmother in Mulimira Zone and has a speech impairment. She has never had the opportunitytoattendschool.Whenaskedabout her dream, she smiled and said, "I want to become a nurse so I can help people."

Thanks to your support, we have now enrolled Yvonne in our Sponsor a Child program. She hasbeenmeasured forher schooluniform, and we are working with her family and the Kampala School for the Physically Handicappedtoensureshebeginsherfirst

schooltermthis September. Yvonne will begin schoolnext term, and for the first time in her life.

We also met 4-year-old Leticia, who attends school despite living with a physical disability that requires correctivesurgery. Shesharedthat she is oftenteasedbyclassmatesbecauseofher legs. Such experiences can damage a child'sconfidenceandincreasetheriskof droppingoutofschool.Knowingthat,we have initiated a referral with CoRSU Hospitaltoexplorefreetreatmentoptions that could improve her mobility and quality of life.

In the coming months, we will expand our communityoutreachto identify more children with disabilities who are currently excluded from education due to poverty, stigma, and limited access to services. Our goal is to identify and support at least 100 vulnerable children throughour Sponsor a Child program, connecting themto education, healthcare, and other essential services.

Every donation you make creates opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. Back to School, Back to Hope Your Support Is Transforming Lives

Dear Friends,

Because of your generosity, vulnerable children in Uganda are continuing their education and building brighter futures through our Sponsor a Child in Uganda program. Your support is helping children from disadvantaged families stay in school, access essential learning materials, and pursue opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Our sponsorship program supports children to enroll, remain in school, and complete their education through school fees, scholastic materials, and ongoing welfare support.

During this reporting period, 40 children received educational support, including school fees, uniforms, exercise books, pens, and other scholastic requirements. During the regular follow-up visits by our field team, we monitored children's attendance, academic progress, and wellbeing to ensure they remained safe and engaged in learning.

One of the beneficiaries, a 13-year-old girl in lower secondary school, shared;

"Before I joined the sponsorship program, I often missed school because my family could not afford fees and school requirements. Sometimes I feared being sent home. Today, I attend school every day and I am confident about my future. I want to become a nurse and help people in my community. Thank you for believing in me."

Another sponsored child told us:

"Receiving books, a uniform, and school fees made me feel valued. I now concentrate on my studies instead of worrying about whether I will stay in school. Thank you for giving me a chance to learn."

Your donations were used as follows;

50% of the donations were used to pay school fees and educational expenses.
30% of the donations were used on scholastic materials, uniforms, and learning supplies.
20% on children monitoring, welfare follow-up, and program coordination.

Because of your support,

100 percent of children remained enrolled under our child sponsorship program are actively attending school.
98% of our sponsored learners progressed to the next academic level in the 2026 academic year.
Our field team conducted 6 home and school follow-up visits to check on children's wellbeing and educational continuity.
