New smart classrooms at Kabukuba and Musovu

Musovu Primary School just before finalization

Since our last report, we have expanded our digital education program with the installation of two additional smart classrooms.

Kabukuba Primary School:
The existing school building was refurbished and connected to the national electricity grid. The project included a complete electrical installation, 30 laptops, two projectors, a photocopier, new classroom furniture, and IT training for teachers. This smart classroom was made possible through the generous support of the Rwanda ICT Chamber / AIPI.

Musovu Primary School:
Four new classrooms were constructed, one of which has been equipped as a smart classroom with 30 laptops, a projector, and classroom furniture. IT training for teachers will begin in August. This project was generously funded by the German NGO Fly & Help.

In addition, we provided three more schools with high-speed internet access. As a result, 8 of the 11 schools in Juru Sector now have smart classrooms with reliable high-speed internet connectivity.

Funds raised through this platform, together with contributions from other donors, are being used to:

  • finance coding clubs for primary school students;
  • provide two scholarships for a three-year vocational IT training program;
  • cover the initial installation costs for high-speed internet, while the ongoing subscription fees are financed by the Rwanda Basic Education Board.

We continue to expand our education program. Fundraising for the ninth and tenth smart classrooms is already underway. Our goal is to ensure that all 11 schools in Juru Sector are equipped with smart classrooms, high-speed internet access, and teachers trained to deliver high-quality IT education, giving every student the opportunity to develop essential digital skills for the future.
