Challenge

For the street connected and homeless youth whom we deal with gaining a livelihood opportunity, when many young people are already unemployed, is a challenge. Some lack education and skills and the capacity to gain employment. We try to identify areas where they may have an interest.

Solution

For some of the youth from a rural background there is the opportunity to reconnect with their families and do farming from there home areas. This will also help them feed themselves together with their families. For others without such a chance we will look to them using hired land where they can grow for themselves or to sell their produce to the community.

Long-Term Impact

Creation of both jobs and economic growth for the youth through Agriculture. Empowerment of the youth, long lasting and sustainable change and development. It gives them an opportunity to have a stable life and a solid basis to begin family life. The training also encompasses nutrition, plants for medicine and entrepreneurship as well as organic agriculture which increases the knowledge and skill base of the youth.
