2011 is Goodwill Group’s tenth year in operation and we hope it’s another memorable one. Thanks to everyone’s generous donations, we are getting closer to our dream of expanding our charitable services to disadvantaged Thai girls and women in Ubon Ratchathani, the second poorest province in Northeast Thailand. Many uneducated women are in need of our services because they migrate to Bangkok to find better paying jobs but lack the necessary education or skills. For some women, the Goodwill experience can be the difference between finding gratifying careers and falling into dangerous jobs. That’s why we’re committed to opening the office as soon as possible. Our goal is to find the funding to support the first three years of the new branch.
At our Bangkok office, Goodwill recently won a grant from Starbucks and will organize the “Life Inspiration” project for disadvantaged girls and women in Bangkok. The project, which starts next month, will inspire and teach women to jumpstart their careers and launch their own small businesses. We also continue to organize training workshops for our students. In the past months, we have organized basic self defense training, CPR and first aid training, Microsoft Word training, bead jewelry workshop, housekeeping training workshop, make-up training for personality development, knitting training, crochet training, and reproductive health workshop for our students.
Thanks, again, for your kind donations. On behalf of everyone on the Goodwill Group team, we wish you all the best for the coming year. If you come to Bangkok, please feel free to visit us at our office!
With gratitude,
Goodwill Group
