Your support will raise opportunities for 7,000 disadvantaged female youth in Ubon Ratchathani, the second poorest province the Northeast region of Thailand, by providing them with (1) knowledge on post-secondary education opportunities, (2) guidance on employment options and journey into adulthood, and (3) empowerment to become strong leaders in their communities.
With a population of 1.8 million and high levels of unemployment in Northeastern Thailand, many women are forced to migrate to Bangkok in order to support their parents and children back home. If employed, they are making less than $225 per month. Our Ubon branch targets disadvantaged Thai female youth, many of whom has never finished high school. The funds raised in this project will support the operation of Goodwill in Ubon for 3 years.
The new office will provide the students with educational training, career services and a community center in Ubon to provide commercially viable skills and the capabilities to increase their job search success rate and economic earning power.
We expect to offer our services to over 7,000 female youth in 3 years. Successful students using our services out of our current office in Bangkok have achieved on average a 25% boost in their median monthly income.
