Project to intergrate
By James Malinga | Project leader
Hi
Thanks for your continued support towards Mountains of Hope programs, this time round, we have been training TOTs that will support village groups in hand sewing, teams have been utilizing village savings and loans association group quarterly meetings to teach about menstrual health too.
However, the programme is looking forward to add in a component of training youth in these communities how to hand make shoes, sandals, making cakes, hair braiding among others, these trainings will enable over 100 youths to be self reliant as they will be able to set up their own workshops and start earning money.
Such programmes are likely to turn around the communities where we work for good, we are looking for more partners to help us fulfil this dream, we are glad you are already one of them, kindly help us reach out to several others in your network to enable us meet the urgent need in our communities

Sample sanitary pad made using an electric sewing
Greetings,
Thanks for continuing to support this project and our other projects on GlobalGiving, this proect has trained over 5000 girls, boys, women and men to make hand sewn reusable sanitary pads in Mpigi District, as aresult girls nolonger drop out of school due to lack of sanitary pads, however, this project is now advancing, we are starting to supply sanitary pads to various companies, we have trained youth that are running the project, unfortunately the project is not able to make fine standard sanitary pads needed by the companies, schools and organizations, thats why we have planned to purchase a modern electic sewing machine to enable the youth make up to a tune of 1000 pieces of sanitary pads a day if they are to meet the clients expectations. The cost will include branding and packaging of pads
The Total project cost is $2,500. Will you donate towards this cause?

Covid19 has opened our eyes
By James Malinga | Project Leader
''Hi, we are very grateful for your continued support towards this project, when Covid19 hit us, we realized a need for us to intergrate in reusable facemask making using locally available affordable materials to enable us save lifes of the local population, with the experience we had in sewing sanitary pads, it was just a walk over on face mask making'' said a community women group
With your continued monthly recurring donations, you not only provide a girl with a reusable sanitary pad but also protect the entire community from contracting covid19, so its a double edged sword which fights against school drop out through provision of pads yet also protecting people from covid19 through provision of a sanitary pad.
We hope you continue supprting this life changing project so as to enable girls stay at school, women continue doing their daily chores as well as protecting the community against covid19
