We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors and supporters. Your generosity and commitment drive our efforts to create meaningful change in the lives of the widows we serve. However, this period has been particularly challenging due to limited financial resources.
Mission:
To empower 3,000 widows in South-East Nigeria through snail farming, equipping them with the skills and resources needed for sustainable economic independence.
Vision:
A future where widows in South-East Nigeria can provide for themselves and their families through sustainable and profitable snail farming businesses.
Goals:
- Provide comprehensive snail farming training to 3,000 widows
- Supply starter kits and resources for the widows to begin their farming
- Facilitate mentorship and support for widows to build profitable farming ventures
Key Achievements (Q2 2024):
Due to financial constraints, we have unfortunately not been able to implement the snail farming empowerment program this quarter. We continue to advocate for support and raise awareness about the significance of this initiative.
Financial Overview:
We regret to report that no financial support was received during this period, placing us in a serious financial quagmire. Consequently, we have been unable to commence any empowerment activities.
Income:
- $0 from supporters during this period
Expenses:
- No expenditures due to the financial challenges
Future Prospects & Plans:
Despite the current financial limitations, we remain optimistic and are working to secure funding to launch the program by December 2024. Our future plans include:
- Securing additional funding to provide training and resources to 3,000 widows
- Developing partnerships with agricultural experts and local government agencies to enhance the program’s effectiveness
- Planning for December 2024 to empower widows, provided we raise sufficient funds
Importance and Benefits of Snail Farming:
Snail farming, or heliciculture, is an ideal enterprise for these widows due to its numerous advantages:
1. Low Start-up Costs: Compared to other farming activities, snail farming requires minimal initial capital.
2. High Profitability: Snails reproduce quickly and are in high demand both locally and internationally for their nutritional and medicinal value.
3. Sustainable Livelihood: It offers a reliable source of income, especially for widows who may lack access to more capital-intensive ventures.
4. Environmental Benefits: Snail farming is eco-friendly, requires little land, and has minimal environmental impact.
Impact Nexus:
Our target is to create economic stability for these widows, reducing dependency, enhancing community development, and promoting self-sufficiency through sustainable snail farming.
Conclusion:
Although financial challenges have delayed our progress, our commitment to the widows remains strong. We are planning to implement the program by December 2024, once sufficient funds are raised. We ask for your continued support to bring this impactful project to life and empower these widows through sustainable snail farming.
Thank you for your ongoing belief in our mission. Together, we can uplift lives and create a sustainable future for these women.
Warmest regards,
Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation
