This project will train 100 youth with disabilities in Ghana in sports skills to promote inclusion, physical health, and personal development. Many young people with disabilities have limited access to sports opportunities due to lack of training, equipment, and inclusive programs. This project will provide structured training and support to help them participate actively in sports and build confidence.
Youth with disabilities in Ghana often face barriers to participating in sports, including lack of access to inclusive programs, limited equipment, and social stigma. As a result, many are excluded from physical activities that are important for health, social interaction, and personal growth. This exclusion affects their confidence, wellbeing, and opportunities for development.
This project will organize structured sports training sessions for 100 youth with disabilities. Participants will receive coaching in adapted sports activities suitable for their abilities. The project will also provide basic sports equipment and create an inclusive environment where participants feel supported and encouraged. Coaches will be trained to deliver inclusive and accessible sports programs.
The project will improve physical health, confidence, and social inclusion for youth with disabilities. Over time, participants will gain skills that allow them to engage in sports more actively and potentially pursue competitive opportunities. The project will also promote inclusion in communities and help reduce stigma associated with disability.
