Dearest TLC Supporters,
What a crazy last 3 months it has been! From the high of having placed 5 babies into their loving homes and welcoming some beautiful new little chrubs into our nest, to the low of not being able to pay our staff full salaries and having our fuel account closed our emotions and stress levels have been all over the place.
The financial times in South Africa are exceedingly hard and we along with many SA organisations are feeling the serious effects of this, but our precious little heroes in our nursery never cease to keep us fully aware of why we do what we do. I'm sure it's the same reason you offer your loving support to our cause. We pride ourselves in serving the best interests of each and every child that comes through our doors, however many obsitcals we may encounter. Thank you for being a part of our amazing team of supporters! You are just as valuable as any of our caregivers, for without your support our work would undoubtedly cease.
Adoption day's particularly put the value and purpose of our work into sharp perspective! Our purpose to provide quality care for each child as an individual is vital in allowing them to reach their full potential developmentally but also emotionally facilitating secure attachment styles; which provides a great foundation for our little ones to transition into their forever families. We also celebrated World Adoption Day on the 9th of November for which we put together a touching video of what adoption means to some of the adoptive parents connected to TLC. Find the video in the links below.
While we are still improving our financial sustainability we are also looking to the future and considering what comminity-led programs we can start to develop that will address the tragically frequent occurance of child abandoment in our communities. We are excited by what our future might hold and where our jouney will take us in aligning our service of the babies and children in our care with their families in the community.
Lastly, As part of #GivingTuesday we are encouraging our community to help us get more Adopt-A-Cot signups! Our goal is to get 75 new signups by Tuesday 27th November, 2018. As I write this we already have 13 of the 75 signups. As part of this campaign we are encouraging our supporters to help get 5 cots sponsored through their network (that's 5 people soponsoring 1 cot of $10/£10 or one person sponsoring all 5, or any combination totaling $50/£50p/m. You get the idea) they will become an official TLC Cot Crusader in our ambassador's program. This will get them featured on our social pages, website and added to an exclusive Cot Crusaders mailing list. If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in taking this challenge (perhaps an aspiring social influencer) please share the campaign with them. The link is found below. =)
That was a bit of a mixed bag of topics. Hope some of what I've shared here encourages you in your support of us.
As always, we are #Foreverfaithful #ForeverGrateful.
If you ever have any questions, comments or suggestions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Kind Regards,
Faith Abrahams
