Education is a fundamental part of development in the life of any child, sometimes poverty and some other situations such as health prevent it. For AMANC SLP it is important that children continue with their studies regardless of their health or economic condition, but it is essential to have the necessary equipment to provide quality education.
In AMANC we have a classroom with teachers trained to cover levels from preschool to high school, being difficult to teach because we do not have the appropriate equipment to teach our children, since our computer equipment is obsolete and it is difficult to give follow up children who can not get out of bed, because they do not have the right equipment to give them attention in their rooms; these patients tend to pause their studies, some lose the school year until they are able to resume it.
We consider that this problem can be combated by acquiring adequate computer equipment with the infrastructure to access the internet, as well as acquiring interactive tablets for children who find it difficult to attend the classroom, either due to secondary reactions to the radio and chemotherapy or for some physical impediment due to the cancer they suffer In addition, we need to update the classroom material, acquire interactive materials and new whiteboards, among other class material.
Our main objective with children and adolescents with cancer of AMANC is that, despite their illness, continue with their studies and at the same time motivate them to excel. Many of them come from indigenous communities, where their cultural situation does not allow them to think about finishing a university career and we encourage them to achieve it since we are totally convinced that great professionals will come out who can contribute something very good that will help change this world.
