Across the northern region of Ethiopia, escalating political tensions between the Ethiopian National Defense Force and the Tigray People's Liberation Front has displaced more than half a million Tigrayans, many of whom are facing malnutrition and famine conditions. The communication blackout has made it difficult for humanitarian organizations and journalists to respond and report about these atrocities. However, many are braving these conditions and working tirelessly to meet the urgent needs and livelihood of families and individuals throughout the region.
Your donation has powered two grants to high-impact and community-led nonprofit organizations on the frontlines of this crisis. Our team wanted to share a reflection from Ruth, a Project Leader from Abraham Oasis about the impact of your gift:
"It was so good to be able to provide for so many for the Ethiopian New Year. Having available funds enabled Abraham Oasis to buy food, oil, meat for over 1000 people who were forcefully displaced and gave hope that all is not lost."
