The conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia has left many communities looted and/or destroyed. As the region is slowly moving towards peace, people want to move back to their areas of origin. This project will assist vulnerable communities to get back on their feet using a holistic approach.
The rural communities in of Tigray have lost their means of income, livestock, grain, houses and / or shops as these were looted or destroyed due to the Tigray Crisis. One million internally displaced people are in Shire, staying in makeshift buildings. They will eventually return home, but looting has stripped them of any means of support. They have nothing and are traumatized...
Abraham's Oasis plans to provide a sustainable solution for 2 communities through economic empowerment as well as community driven holistic services like counselling, parenting skills training, getting children back in school, community re-building and clean-up/maintenance activities.
The 2 assisted communities will have recovered from the effects of the war, have strengthened their community, families have been empowered, and are able to move forward independently and in a dignified way.
