Thirst For Life Campaign Team - Tanzania

Greetings from Tanzania

This quarter I want to give you a brief update on the progress of our Thirst For Life Campaign.

THANKS for your confidence in this campaign (Thirst for Life):

We appreciate people like Robert, Syb, Allan, etc (details reserved) who decided to sponsor the whole Nanofilter Kiosk "by themselves"! and everyone else who contributed ANY amount - because it all adds-up to our target of establishing 1,000 Kiosks ($1,000) from Alexandria, Egypt to Cape Town, South Africa.

We have fixed the kick-off date to be 18th July 2021 - I hope COVID-19 and other challenges will not interfere. We are now communicating with embassies and all necessary parties to make this great vision happen.

Our desperate need now is to get our word out - so we can invite many supporters for our campaign. We don't have a very competent IT Team or Social Media Experts to help us amplify our word. I was just looking to our Thirst for Life video today (16th Feb 2021) and found out there are only 20 views! How on earth can I fundraise $1,000 under such circumstances!/ THANKS to GlobalGiving (through you) for playing its part to help me and my team.

If you have a specific advice on how we can efficiently implement our Thirst for Life campaign please directly write to me: The campaign will touch lives of about 5,000,000 people across Africa - I am sure you will be proud that you also contributed to making this impact in your life time.

Nanofilter Exhibition - Aug 2020
Nanofilter Exhibition - Aug 2020

THANKS for standing with us "in season and out of season".

Besides COVID-19 challenge, we are so grateful that most of our supporters continued to generously support us - though they themselves might have been challenged by COVID-19. That's a great sacrificial spirit and we will always respect and cherish your generosity.

The most important activity we accomplished this quarter is successful participation in the exhibition event that happens every year in August. As you can see in the photo, we displayed all our products which are:

1. Nanofilter for households and for schools / institutions

2. Biogas and organic fertilizer

3. Solar Lanterns and

4. Inspire and Empower Centre

We had more than 1,000 visiting our booth and we recorded their names for future follow-ups.

Last but not least: please kindly join our 10 years celebration on 1 - 5 Dec 2020. We will show-cost our success stories and the impact to our community. Also we will release our great plan to scale-up to 20 different African countries in 2021. It looks like an "impossible dream" - that is why you need to witness by yourself.

Please kindly click this link and join us for the GREAT CELEBRATION on 3rd Dec 2020:

We will come back with further details about this GREAT CELEBRATION for our 10 Years Mission & Vision. For now please keep the date: 3rd Dec 2020 - and share the link with others.

THANKS again for being very kind to us, even amidst COVID-19.

Proposed Medical Masks manufactured by 3D Printer
Proposed Medical Masks manufactured by 3D Printer

This quarter who don't have much to say outside the fight for COVID-19. We are so grateful for many partners who stepped in and intervened in this time of need. Among many others is the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK. The academy has decided to provide us with three 3D Printers to fabricate medical masks and visors to support the effort of front-line health workers who are in greater risks to contract COVID-19. The printers are about to be installed – we will provide updates with time. Please kindly WELCOME and join our effort if you are interested to step-in for this 3D Printer Project and/or anything else that is of interest. Worthy of mention are other projects we submitted to Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF) and the USAID to protect our Nanofilter operators (90 ladies) who are actively providing clean and safe water, even in the midst of COVID-19. These ladies are now considered as the real HEROES in our community. We are determined to strengthen their effort through a project with the following objectives:

• To conduct individual calls to operators to offer encouragement, determine their needs, and disseminate business model alternatives to avoid contracting and spreading coronavirus.

• To introduce Zoom call which can address all 90 operators - all of them at once and allow exchange of ideas

• Purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) – masks and visors for all 90 operators

NanofilterTM is an invention from Tanzania; a low-cost water purification system that increases access to clean and safe water to reduce water bone diseases. Nanofilter is determined to make a change through this innovation:

THANKS to all our previous and new partners, we are now expanding the impact of Nanofilter innovation from Tanzania to Zambia. This project is generously supported by the Southern Africa Innovation Support (SAIS), Urban–Hedley Family Trust, U.S.A, and the government of Tanzania through the Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) and the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST); along with the private partners: Gongali Model Co.Ltd of Tanzania and Spot Agro of Zambia.

The most important contribution (to this project in Zambia) from our previous sponsors like you (that is why you are receiving this report) and the GlobalGiving is that the entrepreneurs from Zambia came to Tanzania to learn about the Nanofilter Water Stations that you helped us established. Through your support we are now able to showcase our proven business model (refill of water in Nanofilter Stations) and many success stories.

On the other hand, this quarter we were blessed again by winning 17th award. This time it was through our Nanofilter CEO, Mrs Ruth Elineema Lukwaro, who was awarded by the President of Ghana for our significant contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The award is named: Africa Innovates for SDGs.

Once more, we are so grateful to you and all our partners who gave us a beautiful beginning of this interesting journey of Nanofilter and we see a brighter future. Please kindly let us know if you would like to be involved in a certain way – eg. if you want to support us to enter another country or just continue to scale-up within the countries we are already in (Tanzania, Kenya, and Zambia). You may even just support a family get Nanofilter at a price of USD 250 or establish a new water station at USD 1000 to create an employment for one more youth, particularly women. We will send you the name of the household/family you supported, station location / GPS, photos, etc. Then you can drop-by / visit whenever you come to Africa or request your friends to visit us whenever they come to Africa.

We are always grateful for your RELENTLESS SUPPORT.

This quarter we are reporting the success stories of ladies who got employed by Nanofilter. The uploaded video (see below) shows the testimonies of those ladies on how Nanofilter is making IMPACT in their lives through reputable employment. Some of them even bough plots through the income they got from the Nanofilter business. THANKS to all individuals and partners who contributed to the success of this Nanofilter project that is creating employment for women, particularly young ladies. Their testimonies are inspiring. For more information please contact;

Moreover, we are so humbled and forever GRATEFUL for the report that is created by the Tanzanian Ministry of Health on the success story of Nanofilter in Geneva at the World Health Organization Meeting. It is so nice to hear what the Ministry said about Nanofilter success story. WE THANK GOD FOR THIS LIFE-TIME OPPORTUNITY TO IMPACT MILLIONS OF LIVES!

We are indebted to our “all the time” supporters through GlobalGiving. It has been a permanent relationship that is growing from time to time. Recently we were visited at our office in Tanzania by the GlobalGiving officials - they were impressed by our success stories.
