Six down, six to go, and a new collaboration to help with it all

We just squeeked in under the wire with funds, but ended up with more than enough donors to meet our challenge goal!  Without the generous support of everyone who chipped in whatever they could, it never would have happened.  To all of you: my warmest heartfelt thanks.

We have now revised the project to include six secondary schools, at locations posted on the project map.  I travelled to Yaounde this week to meet with Nestor Ngouambe, who is the Cameroon representative for YPARD (Young Professionals for Agricultural Development), regarding the placement of some agricultural volunteers to work on our school garden projects. We explored the various ways for we can collaborate, and he and some of his collegues will visit us in Bamenda soon to see what we can arrange.  I think this is going to be a very fruitful collaboration for us!  He provided the infographic attached to this report.

We are excited that our project fits it so well with the theme of this year's World Food Day Oct. 16:  "feeding the world, caring for the earth."  Perfect timing for Global Giving's bonus day Oct. 15, when Global Giving is providing a 30% match for all contributions up to $1000, while funds last.

I will be visiting participating schools this week and will post a report about our these new partnerships next week.
