Dear Supporters,
As we move into a new season, we wanted to share a brief update on our project in Honduras, though there's not much new to report at the moment.
The "Talleres" professional training program continues to empower young people in Honduras by providing hands-on experience in essential trades such as welding, automotive mechanics, painting, carpentry, electrical engineering, cosmetics, and tailoring. Through this three-year program, led by skilled Honduran professionals, participants gain valuable career skills and develop abilities that benefit their communities. Girls in particular are enthusiastic about gaining expertise in fields that have traditionally been male-dominated, which is helping to challenge and reshape gender expectations.
If you’re interested in more details about the program, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@pen-paper-peace.org. For any additional updates, please check in with us on Instagram!
As always, funding remains an ongoing challenge due to rising inflation and cost-of-living pressures in Honduras, which makes the future of Talleres beyond 2024 uncertain. If you’re able, we would be grateful for any continued support to help sustain this vital work.
Thank you for being a part of our work!
Warm regards,
The PEN PAPER PEACE Team
