This project responded to urgent humanitarian needs while contributing to early recovery efforts in As-Sweida Governorate (Aslaha, Jbib, and AlDara communities). It targeted 1,187 households (407 IDPs and 780 host community households), reaching approximately 5,935 individuals. The intervention aimed to reduce vulnerability during winter while supporting resilience and local recovery. Key Interventions: Provided Winterization Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) of USD 150 to 345 highly vulnerable households Prioritized assistance to female-headed households, persons with disabilities, elderly-headed households, and large families Enabled beneficiaries to meet urgent winter needs, including fuel, blankets, clothing, mattresses, and shelter improvements Conducted awareness sessions (three per community) to guide households on prioritizing and planning winter-related expenditures Results and Impact: The project reduced exposure to harsh winter conditions and related health risks, while mitigating protection concerns among vulnerable groups. Cash assistance enhanced beneficiaries’ dignity and choice and contributed to supporting local markets. Awareness sessions improved household-level decision-making regarding winter preparedness. Conclusion: The intervention effectively addressed immediate seasonal needs while laying a foundation for early recovery by strengthening resilience and supporting both displaced and host communities in a conflict-affected setting.
