The Project aims to support vulnerable populations in Syria during the harsh winter months by providing essential winter assistance and strengthening community resilience. The project focuses on distributing winterized shelters, warm clothing, blankets, and heating fuel to displaced families and those in high-risk areas. In addition to immediate relief, the project will implement community-based initiatives to enhance preparedness for future winter seasons.
Millions of Syrians, especially women, children, and people with disabilities, face severe hardships during winter due to inadequate shelters, lack of heating, and limited access to basic winter necessities. These conditions increase the risk of illness, mortality, and socio-economic vulnerabilities, while ongoing conflict and displacement reduce communities' capacity to cope. Immediate support and resilience measures are urgently needed to protect the most vulnerable.
The project will provide vulnerable Syrians with essential winter assistance, including warm clothing, blankets, mattress, heating fuel, and winterized shelters. In parallel, it will strengthen community resilience through awareness campaigns on safe heating practices and capacity-building activities, enabling communities to better prepare for and withstand harsh winter conditions.
The project will reduce winter-related illnesses and fatalities among vulnerable populations while enhancing community preparedness and resilience. By improving living conditions and building local capacity, it will help communities better withstand future winter crises, contributing to longer-term health, safety, and socio-economic stability.
