With the advent of winter, the suffering of 1.5M internally displaced people (IDPs) in Northwest Syria increased, while cramped living conditions, limited hygiene facilities and medical care constitute a new burden and risks of crisis-affected people during winter. The project will rescue 4000 persons live in Kelly camps-Idleb governorate with essential winter items including Blankets, mattress, winter clothes kit, stove work with coal, heating coal. This support is considered as a life-saving.
An estimated 33% of IDPs in Northwest Syria live in inadequate shelter conditions, including damaged and/or unfinished buildings, public buildings. The tents are not appropriately weatherized to withstand harsh conditions, and poorly isolated and overcrowded collective shelters are putting residents at a greater risk of Covid-19. The upcoming winter season extremely difficult for IDPs especially considering the lack of shelter and winter items, like clothes, heating fuel and blankets.
This money raised through this campaign pay for: 1. Stove work with coal for 500 families 2. Heating coal 100 kg. sufficient for two months to 4000 persons 3. Double blankets for 500 families 4. Double mattress for 500 families 5. Winter clothes kit embedded (Boots -Jacket -Trousers/sweat pants -Jumper/sweat shirt -Thermal underwear 1undershirt and 1 pants-Socks-Scarf-Hats-Gloves) for 2000 children All the essential items can bring them comfort during the harshest days and nights.
The distributed items such stove, blankets, mattress, and winter clothes kits will be for one time so they can use it for the other coming winter seasons. Also, provision the heating materials during winter will ensure decreasing the children death percentage, diseases alleviation among old women and men.
