Nalongo has been a neighbor the the children all their lives. So when their maternal Aunt decided to go back to her village instead of caring for the kids- Nalongo simply stepped in to help out. Now, nearly a year later she is the primary caregiver for the children. She cooks them breakfast in the morning, gets them dressed and off to school, and cares for them in the evenings. She has also split the sleeping arrangements of the children between her house and and the kid's house. One of her sons (he's in his mid 20's) and the boys sleep in the children's house, while the two young girls stay in her home with her. Of course everyone is still together every morning and in the evenings. As Nalongo is currently caring for 6 of her grandchildren as well as Fred's kids, this Christmas we decided to give ALL the children backpacks for Christmas as well as enough money to make a huge Christmas feast. We are very thankful for Nalongo and all the love she gives our children. With her help, and contributions from donors like you, Fred's kids will grow up healthy, strong, educated, and most of all- LOVED.
