Supporting Families with Disabled Children

Finally, summer! Finally, holidays!

For many families summer holidays also means going on vacation. Spending quality time with the family, relaxing, sleeping late, not having to care of anything are synonyms.

But what does holidays mean for families with disabled children (or even children with severe or multiple disabilities)? It means extra stress, additional burden, additional worries, additional problems. Problems to find a handicapped accessible accommodation with space for all the specific equipment, tools and medical appliances. With all this extra stress, will there be enough time for the siblings or even for oneself? And will it be affordable? Or is the solution to give the disabled child into short term care?

These and similar problems and questions, among other things, must have led the founders (both parents of children with severe disabilities) to found “Haende fuer Kinder, Der Neue Kupferhof”.

 “Der Neue Kupferhof” is a place, where families with disabled children (even with severe and/or multiple disabilities) can find relief instead of strain. For a maximum of 28 days a year these families can forget their worries and troubles at “Der Neue Kupferhof”.

The main focus is on the disabled children, our “special guests”. They will be cared for 24 hours a day by professional nursing staff while the parents and the siblings can relax and unwind.

According to one of our mottos “everything is possible, nothing is necessary” the parents can spend quality time with their disabled child, without having to do any kind of work, or they can do excursions or trips without the disabled child and/or spend quality time with the siblings while they know their “special kid” is in good care.

A stay at “Der Neue Kupferhof“ means carefree holidays with the whole family including recharging your batteries for the time afterwards until your next stay.
