Dear friend and donor,
We want to thank you for your generosity that has allowed us to support displaced families living in Crete, Greece, until now. You have helped them to put food on their tables and send their children to school, making them feel more confident about their future in a foreign country.
However, given the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria, we have decided to focus, for the moment, on helping the victims of this current catastrophe. While assessing the colossal needs that will have to be met today and for many years to come, we want to prioritise our work where it can be impactful.
With you, we want to reach out to thousands of individuals and families in a practical way so that we can make, however small, a difference.
Please don't stop helping people in need through GlobalGiving, Crete for Life, other projects, and, particularly Now is time to help all the Syrians. We remain focused on assisting families in giving a better life to their children. You are making a positive difference, one person at a time, whether in Greece, Turkey, or fractured Syria.
Thank you from all of us,
Crete For Life Team
Your support has allowed us to be close to a few displaced families from Iraq, Syria and Pakistan through another difficult year. Thanks to your donations they received necessary medical care, food and hygen products, including soaps and disinfectants that have helped to protect adults and children from exposure to the Covid-19 virus. With your support the past year was full of positive and happy moments that we shared with those in need around us.
Thanks to everyone who donated to us so that we can support others. Thank you for your trust and generosity. Hoping to continue to spread the love together in 2023, we wish you a happy and healthy new year!

Life for displaced families in Greece gets tougher by the day. At the moment, most of the displaced families we support here in Crete are composed of single mothers (widowed or divorced) and young children and this makes them particularly vulnerable. While waiting for the asylum, these families are somehow protected by governamental and European agencies. However, once their request are accepted or refused, they are left to fend for themselves.
With your donations we aim to give them and their children the dignity they deserve. We organize Greek and English lessons so that women are capable to find work. Then we help with housing, food insecurity and we facilitate and ensure the children go to school. Small things, like being able to afford bus tickets, make an ocean of difference to finding work or receiving an education.
