Challenge

Billions of People Lack Water When waters run dry, people can't get enough to drink, wash, or feed crops, and economic decline may occur. In addition, inadequate sanitation-a problem for 2.4 billion people-can lead to deadly diarrheal diseases, including cholera and typhoid fever, and other water-borne illnesses. Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor, is highly needed for use by local authorities in towns and cities that are in charge of public and community toilets. Without water is life.

Solution

This project will provide sustainable water management. Improving water infrastructure which must be a priority, as water conservation and efficiency are key components of sustainable water management. Reclaimed water. Pollution control & better sewage treatment. Awareness & Education. Also, it will provide wastewater recycling, energy-efficient desalination plants, solar and UV water filtration, nano filtration, and rainwater harvesting systems that can help address water scarcity.

Long-Term Impact

Water supply and sanitation projects have impacts on people's lives which extend farbeyond the expected improvements to health and reduction in time spent collectin gwater. impacts can also include significant improvements in household income levels and security of livelihoods. Increased school attendance occurs along with better child care, social and cultural benefits such as reductions in stress levels, increased status and self-esteem, better family and community relations.
