One of our the latest beneficiary of Global Giving is Christine here below is her testimony:
"I write to appreciate Global Giving for the support rendered to me during my enrolled nursing course at Mayanja Memorial Training Institute because it was not easy on my part to get tuition fees. Global Giving funding paid for my tuition for 3 of the 4 semesters of the nursing course. I completed my enrolled nursing course final examinations two weeks ago. I am now at home on holidays as I await for the results. Thanks to Global Giving Donors for making this possible."

TESTIMONY FROM ISAAC
By Jerome Kabakyenga | Project Leader
My name is Isaac, a former student of Mayanja Memorial Medical Training Institute and one of the beneficiaries of Global Giving scholarship scheme in 2011 through Mayanja Memorial Hospital Foundation. I take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks to Global Giving for supporting me during my course of study.
I had a challenge with payment of tuition fee and I was one of the students who were almost failing to complete the course. My parents were unable to raise the whole amount required for tuition fee but when Global Giving gave me a scholarship they were relieved on the burden. But when Global Giving came in I managed to complete the course in May 2011. I am now employed as an Enrolled Nurse at Ntuusi Health Center level IV under the Local Government of Ssembabule District in Southern Uganda (shded on the map below).

The Health Center serves a catchment area of about 100,000 people. I am now able to contribute towards the development of my community, district and country through offering patient care and participating in public health activities.
I acknowledge the services of Global Giving towards supporting young Ugandans to attain certification in Nursing. Any support offered to other students is highly appreciated.

The Global Giving East Africa Field Officer paid a visit to Mayanja Memorial Hospital Foundation (MMHF) on Friday May 15, 2015. Mr Kurz was presented with a brief of the Foundation activities. With funding from Global Giving 29 students have been supported. Twenty eight (28) have already got certification in nursing and are working in different parts of the country. One student is still persuing her program and is due to complete her course in December. Mr Kurz had the opportunity to meet the one student still at the Training Institute and one of those who completed his program in nursing. The pre-service student expressed her thanks to Global Giving for the support. The nurse who Kelly met at his place of work (Regional Eye Center) was very grateful for Global Giving support that enabled him to attain a certificate in nursing. He is now the sole financial support for his entire extended family. He has plans to further her studies in nursing. Thanks to the Global Giving family for all the support.
