The past semester at the Kharkiv School of Architecture brought new challenges and opportunities. We completed an active semester review and hosted a series of gatherings for our friends and partners. Academically, our Bachelor’s studios continued to work with real-life sites and briefs, exploring housing, heritage, and landscape through research-led design and field practice. In the Autumn semester, we also launched a new Master’s programme in Architecture and Urbanism with a strategic focus on Kharkiv, strengthening our connection to the city and preparing professionals for reconstruction and complex urban processes. The Preparatory programme was rethought and relaunched in a modular format, with an online track and updated content, engaging a broader group of participants from across Ukraine and abroad. Alongside education, we advanced research on heritage, housing, and spatial governance, and expanded partnerships and public presence -reinforcing HSA’s role as an open, resilient, and internationally connected institution.
KhSA’s public presence and partnerships remained a vital part of the semester. We continued building institutional collaborations with universities and professional networks in Ukraine and abroad, maintaining long-term cooperation with the University of Limerick, developing connections with Paris-based architecture schools, and engaging in mobility opportunities through Erasmus+. We also expanded professional dialogue through exhibitions, public events, and participation in international platforms, ensuring that Ukrainian architectural education and research remain visible within global conversations on resilience, ethics, and reconstruction.
Importantly, we continued to grow the community of support around KhSA. During the semester, we hosted dedicated gatherings for our friends and partners, including events that strengthened long-term collaboration and helped build future scholarship support for incoming students. We are deeply grateful to the businesses, foundations, and individual supporters who stand with KhSA and invest in education as a strategic foundation for Ukraine’s recovery and sustainable development.
