Dear GlobalGiving team and donors,
We are pleased to announce that in November-December 2022, HUJ has completed the overhaul of 2 rooms for the Happy Room instead of the one previously available in the children's rehabilitation center with the transfer of funds from GlobalGiving in November-December 2022.
Previously, the Happy Room of Rehabilitation Center, where long-term volunteers organized free time activities and games with disabled children, including refugee children, was a small, dark and not renovated room. It was almost impossible to organize effective work with children here.
As a result of the construction, 2 rooms have been combined into one large, spacious and bright room, where children, together with volunteers, will spend their free time from procedures.
HUJ also purchased new furniture and materials for children to play with.
Photos illustrating the condition of the Happy Room before and after the construction are attached.
In the previous report, we indicated that we planned to use the remaining funds for the replacement of windows and doors in the two-story medical building and for the subsequent repair of the entire territory of the building.
It was planned to complete the work before March 15, 2023, however, due to the large number of sick children and the impossibility of placing them in other buildings, as well as the lack of funds, we had to move the start date of these works to a later date.
Estimated start of the work is March 15 and the finish will probably be on April 25-30, 2023.
Dear donors,
We wish you Happy New Year and great success in your noble work.
At the same time, we send you a report on the work done.
As it was mentioned in the previous report, with the money listed from GlobalGiving in July we bought two special equipment for the help of wounded soldiers' therapy and for children with disabilities , in order to make the process of recovery faster and help them to bring back the moto system. Attached there are photos of the equipment (attachement #1 #2, #3, #4, #5)
In connection with the large amount of money from GlobalGiving that came in November-December 2022, HUJ informs that, together with the children's rehabilitation center, it was decided to use the funds to expand and renovate the Happy Room for children with disabilities.
The happy room, today, is a very small room in one of the cottages in the children's rehabilitation center, where HUJ long-term volunteers work and play with children with disabilities, in their spare time from procedures and therapy.
The Children's Rehabilitation Center decided to allocate two rooms in the same cottage, which will be combined into one large, bright and comfortable room for working with children. Previously, these rooms were occupied by a warehouse.
We need to combine both rooms into one, overhaul them and hand it over to volunteers for active work with children.
Here we have to remove the dividing wall between the rooms, repair the floor, ceiling and walls, replace the windows.
For this purpose, during January 2023, a contract for repair work will be concluded, it is planned to complete the work by February 15, 2023. Three of our volunteers will provide active assistance to the builders.
The second program, where it is planned to use the funds transferred by GlobalGiving, is the replacement of doors and windows in the two-story medical building of the children's rehabilitation center.
In this cottage, children who are being treated live with their parents, and the windows and doors in it are wooden, very old and partly rotten, have large cracks, from which it blows strongly, and the doors are also very narrow and wheelchairs can hardly pass through them.
From January 15, measurement and evaluation work will be carried out, a contract for the work will be concluded. The deadline for completion of works is March 15, 2023.
Photos illustrating the condition of the Happy Room and Cottage are attached.
Dear donors,
We are happy to share with you the final result of the work of creation of the special elevator for wounded soliders and disabled children in the Rehabilitation Center in Yerevan. This elevator helps to move those people in the swimming pool.
The water theraphy in the pool is one of the most effective methods for the recovery of the limbs.
The walls of the pool are high and the wounded solideirs and children could not enter the pool by themselves previously, only with the help of therapysts. After the creation of this elevator now it is more easy for them to have an access to the pool.
We are also planning to order 2-3 special equipments for the help of wounded soldiers' threaphy, in order to make the process of recovery faster and help them to bring back the moto system. We continue to collect the donations for these plans.
Dear donors,
We are happy to share with you our latest news: for the pool in the Rehabilitation Center has been ordered a special elevator for the wounded soldiers and disabled children. The elevator will help to transport them to the water in the pool, where they can have all the necessary exercises.
The walls in the pool are high, which causes difficulties for the wounded soldieirs , who have some physical difficulties. While the meeting with the Rehabilitation center, it was desided to order such elevator, which will make it easy for them to have an access to the pool. Exercises in water are very important for the recovery of the soldeirs and children.
Please see the photos of the elevator.
Thank you for your contribution to the program of Voluntary Service of Armenia “Help wounded soldiers and refugees (Karabakh war)” in the framework of GlobalGiving platform.
HUJ- Voluntary Service of Armenia has ordered a plan-drawing for a special elevator for wounded soldiers having their treatment in the Rehabilitation Center in order to help them to transfer in a swimming-pool for special exersices for limb development.
The amount of 237 USD which we already have on the account of the GlobalGiving (after the transfer) will be used for this purpose.
Hope that we will receive from our donors funds needed for the creation of the elevator.
As soon as the system will be ready and instaled in Rehabilitation Center we will upload it in our GlobalGiving project photo gallery. Please follow our page to see the project flow.
Thank you again for your support.
