Support the Incomplete Orphanage Building

Dear sponsors, individual donors and companies - supporters of SevaChildren/SevaChildren Norway.

As may be noticed by our readers, the organization has changed its logo. But, you will be serviced by the same enthusiastic people also in the future.

New donations of US $ 630 was received since our last report published in August this year! The total amount received to this project has now reached approximately US $ 7.750 in total. We are extremely happy for this!

Let u stake you on a small journey through this Orphanage:

Ashagram Orphanage building stands on a large Campus of 20 acres of farm land with a beautiful panoramic view of an adjacent lake, lot of agricultural farms nearby and some hillocks and forest lands dotting the horizon. The vast expanse of empty spaces within the campus is being made use of by our orphanage children for their outdoor games and sports. Recently a few more buildings have come up within the campus aimed at providing facilities to orphan children as well as to our Community Development project beneficiaries and to rural poor children sponsored by SevaChildren. One of the buildings serve as a Community Hall where all the functions, meetings, workshops and training programs are being conducted. Adjacent to that is the water purification plant and purified drinking water dispensing Kiosk. Orphanage children as well as the poor from the nearby villages benefit from this safe drinking water project.

The main building, which for several years remained half constructed, has now the main structure with the first floor completed, including electrical, plastering and painting. The only works remaining now is that of carpentry and flooring tiles fixing. An amount of approximately US $ 5000 would be required to complete all these pending works.

Project Beneficiaries & the benefits:

• A total of 50 orphan children shall benefit from enhanced facilities that would be made available at Ashagram Orphanage once the building is fully completed. They will have better and more spacious accommodation facilities. They will have more space for their study desks. The whole environment will be more conducive for their healthier growth and development.

• The sponsored children from the nearby poor villages as well as the poor who are beneficiaries of community development projects in these villages, shall also be the beneficiaries, as the Community Hall where the activities are being conducted presently, will no longer be required for the Orphanage children.

• The General Project Administration of the Ashagram Orphanage as well as of our other projects shall be much more efficient as more space shall be available for smooth functioning.

We express our deep gratitude to everybody having participated in this fundraising for the Ashagram Orphanage. We are now trying our level best to complete the remaining part of this project, and do receive any amount, small or big, from our esteemed donors in order to finalize the remaining part.

As may be noticed by our readers, the organization has changed named to: SevaChildren for our Norwegian speaking viewers and to SevaChildren Norway for our English speaking viewers. But, you will be serviced by the same enthusiastic people also in the future.

A new donation of US $ 500 was received since our last report published in May this year!

Since our last report in May, we have concentrated on a maximum utilization of donations received. Although the monsoon has been operating in India since our last report - and hampered our remaining work - we have managed completeletion of putting slab on the top of Shelter on the staircase.  This is the last masonry work that was remaining. 

In the days and weeks to come, we have to consider how to acquire and manage the following, remaining work which will enable the children to move back into the orphanage structure:

1. Acquiring and fixing doors and windows.
2. Acquiring and fixing the flooring tiles.
3. Acquiring and fixing the toilets work.   
4. After the above, the last thing to do is painting. 
5. Acquiring furniture such as cots and desks.

Appealing to our previous donors through this report, we hope that we can manage to raise a few hundred dollars for the items mentioned above. If we manage to do so, we hope that we from the next school year shall be able to move all the children back to our Ashagram Orphanage from the next school year, or even earlier.

Finally, dear contributors - being the backbone of this project - we hope that you feel that your contribution has made a difference in the lifes of these children soon able to move back into the upgraded Orphanage facilities.
