Challenge

Uganda faces a significant youth unemployment crisis. National unemployment among youth has risen to 16.5%, and nearly 1 in 3 young people between the ages of 15 and 24 is not in employment, education, or training (NEET), hence the timing boom. The situation is even more dire for young women, with 50% of those aged 20-24 classified as NEETs. For many, the road to financial independence seems impossibly out of reach with no backing interventions in vocational training for jobs access &creation

Solution

We will offer crucial vocational and life skills training as well as industrial training services to the most vulnerable groups-youth and teenage mothers-helping them create opportunities for themselves and break free from the cycle of poverty. This, coupled with entrepreneurship and career education, will empower vulnerable youth and women (teenage mothers) with knowledge, skills, competences, positive attitudes, and transferable expertise to others, hence income and financial freedoms

Long-Term Impact

The project in the long run will create 10,000 sustainable jobs, 7000 entrepreneurs, reduced gender inequality by 10%, transferring of skills, expertise and knowledge to more other 400 new participants annually, inform of apprenticeships as well as 80% of market demand labour force in the Greater Metropolitan Kampala Area region.
