Back to School Update – Thank You for Making It Happen!
We’re excited to share some great news from the ground—thanks to your amazing support through GlobalGiving, our 2025 Back to School campaign is off to a strong start! Because of you, kids who might have stayed home this term are now back in school—fully equipped with what they need: school fees paid, uniforms stitched, backpacks loaded with supplies, and full bellies from daily meals. You made that possible.
So far, 110 students—from little ones in Class 1 to college students—were able to head back to school this January. We’ve been busy doing home visits and school check-ins to make sure everyone was enrolled and attending. We’re especially excited that 35 of our students are now in boarding school, which is a huge step in helping them stay focused and consistent with their studies.
We’ve also collected Term 1 report cards for all students so we can keep track of how they’re doing and where some may need a little extra help. We’re happy to report that about 70% of our students either maintained or improved their grades! For those who hit a few bumps along the way, we’ve already started extra tutoring and stepped up our mentorship support. We know with a little more encouragement, they’ll be right back on track.
The second term wraps up at the end of April, and we’ll be collecting the next round of report cards shortly after. Fingers crossed for even more improvement!
We’re also working closely with families—hosting small meetings and conversations with parents and guardians to remind everyone just how important school attendance, study habits, and home support really are. When the home team and school team work together, our kids stand a much better chance of success.
