LGBTQIA+ individuals in Syria continue to face severe risks to their safety and lives on a daily basis. Every day, GEM receives an increasing number of emergency requests—higher than ever before—at a time when our organization itself is at risk of shutting down due to critical funding cuts. This represents one of the most difficult moments for GEM, as we are responding to urgent, life-threatening cases with nearly no resources.
