Do Your Part continues to request the support of each of you touched by the many people each year that have experienced a wildfire and its devastation. These survivors along with Do Your Part wish to thank you because without the help of people like you, the recovery is much more difficult.
Support continues before, during, and after a wildfire. It is inevitable that a wildfire will happen in almost every county in the state of California every year. We all need to be prepared, it could happen any time, any place and action is required. Response and Relief are immediate, what comes next is the Long Term Recovery that happens after everyone not involved has forgotten all about the fire.
In the months where there is no activity Do Your Part, contines to maintain and collect supplies and aid in the Long Term Recovery. Your valuable assitance keeps these items on hand. With thanks to all of you and your donations that helps us be able to act at the onset of the disaster and disburse the immediate needs to the many people affected. Please continue to support this project and share with friends and family.
Thank you for being that person that cares, and thank you for your very generous donation.
Do Your Part would like to thank you for recognizing that support continues after the immediate response is over and the media is gone, when the clean-up and recovery begins. To date in 2016 there has been 5,794 fires in California that have burned 555,866 acres according to the California Department of Forestry. These fires ran much of the length of the state fortunately not at the same time.
There is still so much to do for the people affected by these fires, long term recovery and case management is important to bring the survivors back to sustainability. Please spread the word, funds are needed now for current survivors and a must in preparation for fires yet to come and for the people and firefighters and animals that suffer through them.
Thank you again for your donations and for your help in spreading the word.
For all of you who have donated to the Northern California wildfire, please be assured that your donation went to that effort. As of this report we have changed the title to California Wildfires, as we enter yet another drought ravaged season in California. There has been more rain than in the past years for California, but it will take a lot more to undue the dry areas that fuel a blaze. As you may have noticed a firestorm erupted in Kern County near Lake Isabella on Thursday evening which gave the residence no warning of its doom. Residence were lucky to have escaped with their lives and the clothes on their backs as it rapidly took 100 homes and left many more in jeapordy.
We would like to personally thank each of you that have donated to the fire assistance in Northern California and ask you to reach out to family and friends and social media here in California to continue to assist with the on going efforts to aid the survivors of these devastating fires.
Thank you for joining our family of humanitarians,
Thank you for supporting survivors of Calif Fires By Schlene Boundy - President
Hidden Valley Structure Destroyed
Hope you all had a wonderful and safe Easter,
Once again, Do Your Part and the survivors, would like to thank you for your support. In December we delivered 2000 donated toys and gift cards to the Hidden Valley area and I promised you pictures. Please find a few of these pictures within this update, with my apologies for taking so long, as we had to get permission to use. The distribution of toys and gift cards was a great success and there were so many toys that they shared with surrounding communities that were also affected by the massive fires.
Do Your Part and the survivors of whose lives you have touched want to thank you for your support. This coming Thursday the 17th we will be delivering 2000 donated toys and gift cards to the Hidden Valley area that was hit hard by the fires. The local church that was burnt down and is now using the school will be doing a distribution of toys and gift cards this Saturday the 19th to the children and families of this area.
These families have lost everything, but are so thankful to get these items as a symbol of normalcy during the holiday season. I will send you pictures of the distribution next week, so that you can see how you helped brighten these lives. Thank you again to each of you and global giving who gives us this playform in order to reach each of you.
