My name is Daillen, and my mission over the next six months is to support the growth and development of local nonprofit organizations in Central America through site visits, workshops, and strategic partnerships. As a Field Intern, I will help our partner organizations continuously improve their programs via the tools offered on the GlobalGiving platform. As a local resource and a personal contact, I will be putting a real face to our worldwide virtual network.
The social sector is changing on a global scale, and nonprofits are working hard to secure funds for their causes. Online fundraising is becoming an increasingly relevant tool in raising money for programs and offers a sustainable supplement to traditional methods of fundraising. At GlobalGiving, our local nonprofit partners need tools like this to optimize their fundraising strategy and support the important work they do on the ground.
GlobalGiving provides an online platform where local organizations can connect with a global network of donors. Field Interns are essential in supporting this growing network as they put a face to the largely virtual GlobalGiving community. Our work enables these local leaders to operate more effectively and efficiently. Through the GlobalGiving platform and the many learning tools we provide, our partners can raise funds and better serve their communities.
The one-on-one support and fundraising tools provided during site visits and workshops ensures that our local nonprofit partners continue to learn and grow, becoming more engaged and more effective. On a larger scale, GlobalGiving is democratizing aid and philanthropy by turning our focus to local leaders and community programs. By entrusting social change to those that know best, we are changing the way people think about giving back.
