This project will help us acquire and furnish an office space and provide modest stipends for our four staff and 6 volunteers who will be working on the rollout of a PrEP program, coordination, cake baking, digital and physical safety programs in Mbrarara's Youth community over the next 12 months. In the past two years, MRF has provided health care services, awareness of HIV/AIDS prevention and a safe place for the Yourh to meet and share experiences.
In Uganda, Youth with HIV are the most marginalized members of society. For the last two years our staff and volunteers have served this population, providing job skills trainings and building a grassroots movement. We have accomplished a lot in a relatively short period of time and we've done it all from cafes, couches, and one shared computer. As we aim to strengthen and increase the services we provide, we must acquire the proper tools and provide modest remunerations for our dedicated team.
By securing an office and filling it with the tools needed to mobilize and support our local Youth community, we will be that much more effective in our efforts to accomplish our PrEP roll-out, digital and physical safety programs this year, and begin to roll out a safe space for 2019 by providing modest stipends to our staff and volunteers, we will be able to begin to compensate them for the invaluable work that they are doing as well as allow them to provide for themselves and their families.
Upon the successful completion of this project, Mbarara Rise Foundation will have a functional office space that will provide safe heavens for staff, volunteers, Youth community and the proper tools to advance our efforts to bring equal rights to our local youth community. Furthermore, the stipends for staff and volunteers to work on digital and physical management, PrEP roll-out projects which will ultimately improve their well-being, their safety and realization of human rights for all.
