New Shelter Project in Clackamas County!

By Devon Hoyt | Director of Communications

Sunstone Way is thrilled to expand its' services into Clackamas County, Oregon with our new Clackamas Village Program! Clackamas Village is a new and much-needed transitional housing community. Transitional, or temporary, housing helps people move out of homelessness by offering a safe place to live that includes the social services and other supports people need to successfully move on to permanent housing.

Clackamas Village provides the first year-round shelter in Clackamas County for the general population, serving adults. Utilizing a proven village model, Clackamas Village builds on the success of the adjacent Veterans Village. Clackamas Village is also unique in its trauma-informed design and in assuring housing retention by working with participants after they move on, so they continue to stay housed and thrive.

The village will have 24/7 onsite staff and services coordinated by nonprofit Sunstone Way. These services wrap around residents and support them in their healing and successful transition to permanent housing. Services include peer support, community activities, employment and education opportunities, mental health and recovery support, and help to apply for housing.

Clackamas Village is more than just a place to sleep—it’s a place to heal, rebuild, and move forward. Our trained, trauma-informed staff provide wrap-around support that meets people where they are, with compassion and dignity. From housing navigation and behavioral health support to connection and community, this village is designed to help people reclaim their sense of home and possibility.
