WELCOME PALMERS!!!

PALM WELCOMES THE 2ND COHORT FOR THE SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES

On 17th January, the second cohort of the School of Graduate Studies was officially welcomed during an orientation session. The program connected students with the administrative staff and faculty of the University.

During the session, the Founder & President, shared the historic Palm story. Graduate students were also oriented on the University’s rules and regulations, institutional policies, services offered by the Student Life and Career Services Department, the Palm Center for Ethical Leadership, financial aid and scholarship opportunities, the Honor Code, and overall academic expectations.

The orientation provided students with the opportunity to ask questions and offer suggestions. It also served as an important platform for networking and interaction among students, staff, and faculty members.

PALM WELCOMES THE JANUARY COHORT OF THE UNDERGRADUATE CLASS OF 2029

The January cohort of the Class of 2029 was officially welcomed on Monday, 19th January 2026. A three-day intensive orientation program was organized for the newly admitted freshmen.

On the first day, students were told the historic Palm story and oriented on the University’s rules and regulations, institutional policies, and academic expectations. They were also oriented on services offered by the Student Life and Career Services Office, the Palm Center for Ethical Leadership, financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and the University’s Honor Code.

The Student Life and Career Services Department further elaborated on the support services available to students, including corporate advisory council, career seminars, career advising, general counselling, corporate internships, corporate mentorship, peer mentoring, and community service opportunities.

Academic Affairs educated the freshmen on academic expectations, teaching timetables, field trips, academic-related activities, and academic advising. The Palm Center for Ethical Leadership briefed the students on the mission and vision of the Center as well as its various programs.

The orientation also provided an opportunity for the freshmen to interact with Student Council leaders and to be introduced to the various student clubs on campus.

THE PALM BRIDGE PROGRAM

Palm University’s Bridge Program aims to ensure a smooth transition from senior high to the university. The program was organized for our newly admitted Freshmen, facilitated by our dedicated faculty. Freshmen were equipped with essential fundamental skills and concepts in mathematics, computing, and writing that they will need to excel academically.

OUTREACHES TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS

In January, Palm University participated in three (3) senior high school outreach programs.

On 16th January, Palm took part in an outreach at the Presbyterian Boys’ School, Legon. The students showed keen interest in the University’s programs and expressed their desire to apply in the upcoming admissions.

Palm also participated in an outreach on 23rd January at Beacon International School, Peduase, which brought together students from schools such as Adonten, Aburi Girls, and others. The students were educated on the academic programs offered by the University and the opportunities available to them as prospective Palmers.

On 30th January, Palm participated in an outreach at North Tongu in the Volta Region. Students from different schools were engaged, with many expressing interest in becoming Palmers. The outreach also served as an opportunity to share information about the University’s academic programs and campus life.

These visits gave us the chance to connect directly with young people who are thinking about the next phase of their lives. Their energy and curiosity were encouraging, and we look forward to seeing some of them join the Palm community soon.

PALM CENTER FOR ETHICAL LEADERSHIP: ORIENTATION FOR THE 4TH COHORT OF THE NEGOTIATION, CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROGRAM

On the 25th of January, Palm oriented the fourth cohort of the Negotiation, Conflict Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program.

The President of the University officially welcomed the participants and gave a brief overview of the Center. The Officer in Charge of the Center for Ethical Leadership then introduced the facilitators to the participants and explained the structure and modalities of the program. Participants were provided the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications.

IMPACT STORY

A freshman of the January cohort for the Class of 2029 shares his experience so far.

“Receiving the David Okai Okantey Foundation scholarship and becoming a student at Palm University College has been a meaningful experience for me, and I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity and trust invested in my education. From my first week on campus, it became clear that Palm is intentional about fostering both academic excellence and character development.

One of the first things I noticed was the interactive nature and student-centered approach to teaching. Lectures are designed to actively engage students and promote thorough understanding rather than surface learning. Lecturers take a step-by-step approach, starting from foundational concepts and building gradually without rushing, ensuring that no one is left behind.

The freshman Bridge Program has been particularly impactful. This initiative thoughtfully addresses the gap between the senior high school curriculum and university-level studies by revisiting essential foundational concepts. It reflects Palm’s deep understanding of students’ diverse academic backgrounds, including those who may have taken a gap year, and its commitment to setting all students up for success.

The learning environment at Palm is further enriched by the people who make up the community. Academic staff are highly professional, knowledgeable, and approachable, creating an atmosphere where students feel encouraged to ask questions and engage meaningfully. The non-teaching staff are equally supportive and welcoming, contributing to a strong sense of belonging across campus.

With access to quality learning resources, modern facilities, and a serene, well-maintained campus, Palm University College provides an environment that is truly conducive to learning. Beyond academics, the institution stands out as a place that nurtures character, cultivates ideas, and transforms potential into purpose. I remain sincerely thankful for the scholarship and the opportunity to grow within such an inspiring academic community.”
