STUDENTS CORPORATE INTERNSHIP PRESENTATION

On 10th September 2025, Palm University came alive with stories of growth, innovation, and real-world impact as some Palmers shared their internship journeys with the university community.

From placements at MTN Ghana, TGTS Africa, IoT Network Hub Africa, Heritors Labs, Bidvest Microfinance, Bunge Ghana, and ThelmaTay, students recounted experiences that went beyond theory. They spoke about leading robotics teams, organizing major conferences, building AI kits, and tackling industry challenges, each story reflecting adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.

The showcase was not just about recounting experiences; it was a springboard for inspiration. Fellow students left motivated to embrace hands-on learning, while faculty gained valuable insights into the evolving demands of the professional world.

This event strengthened the university’s mission of producing ethically grounded, industry-ready leaders prepared to excel in an ever-changing world. It sets a new benchmark for experiential learning at Palm, proving that education here extends far beyond the classroom.

With each story shared, it became clear that Palmers are not just students; they are pioneers, prepared to make their mark on the world.

WEEKLY CAREER SEMINARS

The seminars are designed to prepare Palmers to compete in industry, entrepreneurship, develop a stronger sense of purpose and direction, and build meaningful connections with peers and professionals in their field. The facilitators of these weekly career seminars are drawn from local and international industry and entrepreneurial destinations. The following are the seminars that were facilitated in the course of the month:

DRESS FOR SUCCESS SEMINAR

At Palm University, we believe success begins with the right impression. In line with our commitment to holistic student development, the Student Life and Career Services Department hosted a dynamic seminar titled “Dress for Success,” specially curated for our freshmen.

The session was graced by our President, and Registrar, who delivered inspiring talks on the power of professional appearance and personal grooming in shaping opportunities.

Freshmen were guided through practical strategies to project confidence, master business dress codes, and avoid common professional style mistakes. The seminar also explored how posture, body language, and personal presentation can influence career growth and open doors to new possibilities.

This engaging and interactive experience not only equipped our freshmen with the skills to make lasting first impressions but also instilled the confidence to step boldly into their academic and professional journeys.  At Palm, we nurture not just brilliant minds, but ethical leaders who look, act, and lead with excellence.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

Building a successful career goes beyond academic excellence. It requires self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal growth. To help students develop these essential qualities, the Student Life and Career Services Department hosted a transformative seminar on “Personality Development.”

STUDENT LIFE AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

MICROSOFT STUDENT AMBASSADORS HOST MAIDEN GITHUB SESSION

On 30th September 2025, the Microsoft Student Ambassadors at Palm University held their first session for the semester. The event, which took place at the Computer Lab, drew an impressive turnout of 35 Palmers from the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology.

The session introduced participants to GitHub and the GitHub Student Developer Pack. Palmers were taken through the basics of Git and version control, with a special focus on essential Git commands such as clone, commit, push, pull, and branching.

The session also included a walkthrough of the GitHub Student Developer Pack, exposing Palmers to valuable free resources such as GitHub Pro, domains, IDEs, APIs, and cloud credits on platforms like Azure and DigitalOcean.

Beyond the theory, the session emphasized practice. Students engaged in hands-on exercises, where they created and managed their own repositories, made their first commits, and explored how GitHub supports collaboration. To reinforce their learning, assignments were given, ensuring that participants continue practicing beyond the classroom.

The energy and engagement throughout the session reflected the students’ excitement to gain practical, industry-relevant skills. By the end of the session, Palmers left not only with new technical knowledge but also with clear steps to keep practicing and building on their GitHub journey.

This session marks the beginning of a series of monthly activities designed to strengthen students’ technical capacity. The next meeting will focus on collaboration tools and advanced GitHub features, paving the way for students to actively contribute to open-source projects and team-based development.

TOWNHALL MEETING

On 26th September, 2025, Palm University came together for its Town Hall meeting, a signature event that reflects the University’s dedication to transparency, collaboration, and shared growth.

The meeting brought together students, staff, faculty, and leadership for open conversations about the University’s progress, challenges, and plans for the future. Updates were shared on ongoing campus projects, with supervisors introducing their teams and encouraging students to get involved in shaping meaningful, real-world initiatives.

Students were provided updates on academic policies, strategies to enhance student success, and they were also urged to take advantage of internships and professional development programs.

The President provided an update on the University’s affairs, including achievements, challenges, new initiatives, revised policies, plans, and proposed activities for the semester.

The session fostered constructive dialogue, providing students with a platform to share their perspectives. The Town Hall meeting remains a vital tradition at Palm, strengthening community bonds and inspiring students to take an active role in building the future of the institution.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

At Palm, we strongly believe in the spirit of giving back, a value we strive to instill in all our students. Community service is a cornerstone of the Palm experience, shaping students into compassionate, socially responsible leaders.

Through meaningful service,  Palmers acquired valuable life skills, cultivated empathy, and discovered the profound impact of contributing to the well-being of others.

Here’s a glimpse into how some of our students are making a difference and creating lasting changes in their communities!

KEKANGELS SCHOOL’S GRADUATION CEREMONY

Two Palmers who are pursuing, BSc. Business Information Technology recently had an experience that perfectly captured the heart of Palm University’s mission.

They volunteered at Kekangels School’s graduation ceremony, and they were not just there as volunteers; they became an essential part of a milestone in the children’s lives. Whether it was adjusting a graduation cap, offering warm encouragement, or easing last-minute jitters, they stood quietly in the background, making sure everything ran seamlessly. Their kindness and steady presence turned what could have been a routine event into a celebration filled with joy and confidence.

Their story reminds us that leadership is not always about taking center stage. Sometimes, it’s about creating a space for others to shine. By giving their time and hearts, Our Palmers turned a simple act of volunteering into a moment of great impact.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AT A LOCAL WASH BAY

A sophomore pursuing BSc. Business Information Technology recently completed his community service at a local car wash bay within the town of Twifo-Hemang.

He rolled up his sleeves at the local car wash bay, not for pay, but to give back to his community. With every bucket of water and every car he helped clean, he discovered that true leadership is not about titles or applause, but about showing up consistently and making small, meaningful contributions.

His story reflects Palm’s mission to nurture ethical, compassionate leaders who serve with purpose.

Through service, our students not only touch lives but also grow into ethical leaders and changemakers who are willing to give back.
